On Pause
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
This blog is about the marriage between technology, the liberal arts, and the humanities. Each post is inspired by a writer, photographer, poet, or painter. From Missing Maps, She Loves Data, or simple efforts at a local level like explaining data science to high-school students, the theme is bringing technology to bear to help others.
On Christmas Day, it seemed fitting to share a Kickstarter project called On Pause. COVID has hit everyone and everything hard, especially the arts. I live in New York. On Pause captures the city in its eerie state of COVID quiet.
But to me, these images of New York convey a sense of strength and steely optimism. Itβs like New York is a hibernating bear, preparing to prowl again.
Happy holidays! Looking forward to prowling again.
The On Pause Project is led by Charlie Bennet, a New York-based Swedish photographer and cinematographer. He usually photographs food, still life, and interiors for editorial and advertising clients such as the New York Times, Amazon, Kraft, Gourmet Magazine, Nike, Yoplait, and Wallpaper. He's a published book author/photographer and has five books published to date.
