Attitudes Towards AI

A report from Oxford sheds light on diverse attitude towards AI and technology.

Does AI scare or thrill you? Is automation good or evil? Do you embrace the opportunity technology brings, or does it threaten you?

A University of Oxford report sheds light on these questions. They surveyed the attitudes of 2,000 respondents toward AI, automation, and technology. I read it as part of my research on diversity, equity, and inclusion goal-setting.

It takes time to absorb, reflect, and interpret reports like this. For example, you could linger over this one chart for quite some time. It shows support for "high-level machine intelligence." High-income Americans, men, and those with tech experience express greater support. No big surprise there.

But wait! Who supports high-level machine intelligence the MOST? Respondents over 73 years of age!

As I read, I had several aha moments like this. Watch the video I made of them and comment on LinkedIn.
